FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you a sole agency?

YES. South Coast Kidz is a sole representation agency, meaning your child is not permitted to be with any other agency whilst under contract with us. We understand that some children are only interested in joining one division (model or talent) but they are not permitted to sign elsewhere for the other area.

For example, if your child is signed with a Talent only agency, we would not be able to consider them for Stills only, and vice versa.

How do we apply?

You can only apply during our ‘Books Open’ periods, which happen at least 4 times per year for children age 0-14 YRS. When our books are open, you can complete the online application form & send your images over (must be following our application photo guidelines). Please ensure you visit the ‘how to apply’ section to read through all the information before applying.

Do you charge any fees to join?

NO. South Coast Kidz do not charge ANY fees. All jobs booked via SCK are subject to standard commission rates, as stated in the agreement between South Coast Kidz Ltd & the child.

Can you guarantee my child will book a job?

NO. No agency can guarantee that any child will work. We will only sign the children who we believe to be suitable/ will meet our clients requirements, but as the agency we do not have any say in who the clients choose and cannot influence their decision. We can proudly say we submit all children for anything & everything they fit the brief for. Please do not be disheartened if your child does not book any work, as the ‘in demand’ looks vary throughout the year.

Do we need to be based in London to apply?

No, however if you are not based in London/ Surrounding areas, please only apply if you are able & willing to travel at your own expense, and sometimes at short notice. It is very unlikely that clients will cover travel costs.

If your child books an overseas shoot

Will my child have to miss school for jobs?

The majority of work does take place during term time. If your child books a job, the SCK team will contact the child’s school & Local Education Authority to apply for a ‘Child Performance Licence’. Please note, ALL jobs that take place during term time would require the child’s Headteacher so sign a ‘Absence Authorisation Letter’ (this is a supporting document for the CPL application).

Castings & auditions are usually held on the weekends, or after school (between 3:30-7:00 PM for school age children, and during the day for those who do not attend school). Castings usually take place in London. If you are not based in London/ surrounding areas, please do NOT apply if you’re not willing to travel for castings.

For permanent roles in TV, Film / Theatre or Touring work, private education would be provided.
